I’m excited to share everything new in July mostly because I’ve embarked on a couple of projects which align with my purpose of empowering women. Something I’m quite passionate about. But before we get into all it, can you believe we’ve come to the end of July already? 2020 seems to be going by really quickly despite being stationed at home for the most part of it. Still, I feel like the world remains moving, hopefully moving in the right direction as we’ve been forced to face our realities and the new normal as it would seem. I’ll be honest and say some things have come about for me as a result of the events that have transpired so far. My mind has benefited from the calm and challenges brought with it. I gained clarity on my purpose and how to go about accomplishing it. Starting off with my new series “Woman of Substance” which focuses on elevating the voices of under represented creative women. A project I’m really excited about. You can catch up on the first article here featuring the lovely Andrea Cheong. There are more wonderful women I can’t wait to bring to your attention who have inspired me by focusing on their passion and using it to bring about change.

Another project that has got me jumping for joy at the moment is one I’m embarking on with my good friend Adanna Steinacker. We have launched a platform called “She Said It Out Loud”. An initiative to empower women. Adanna will be focusing on helping women find their purpose while I’ll be encouraging women to take an introspective approach in embracing what makes them unique. We’ll be hosting podcasts, live workshops, retreats, and sharing written articles. So give us a follow over on Instagram – @shesaiditoutlout. I look forward to seeing you there.

I ordered some new books this month most of which I haven’t been able to get through as work has picked up for me. My new literary additions include a few books by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. We Should All Be Feminists, Americanah, Half of a Yellow Sun and Purple Hibiscus. I have finished We Should All Be Feminists and now currently on Americanah.

Following the relaxation of the lockdown, work is beginning to pick up for me. Although a new lockdown has been announced for Manchester late last night due to spike in cases. We were able to travel to Banbury in Oxfordshire for work a couple a weeks ago. Making sure to follow the travel guidelines. It was nice to be out in the countryside away from the noise of the city. We stayed at Aynhoe Park where we captured the images below.

My new books have been the only thing I’ve purchased lately as I’m fortunate enough to work with a lot of brands which sometimes entails acquiring pieces from their collection. I do my best to get a lot out of the pieces I own. This means I can have pieces in my wardrobe for years and years. And when I do want to make room for more, my friends and family have their pick while the rest get donated to women charities.
Thanks for reading “Everything New In July“. As always, feel free to follow me on Instagram where I post daily and subscribe to my YouTube channel for weekly videos.
