Preset Editing Tips

This is a Lightroom preset designed especially for lifestyle shots. It works really well with a variety of skin tones and settings. It has the right balance of warmth. Perfect for blog and lifestyle photography. You get ten presets with each pack that can be adjusted to suit your needs.

Please note that a preset is a good starting point when editing an image and additional adjustments may often be required as lighting situations differ from image to image. It is also important to note that it is almost impossible to get the edit looking exactly like mine unless you shoot your images using the same camera (Canon 5D MK III) and lens (Sigma 50mm f1.4) as well as settings (Manual RAW mode) not to mention locations and lighting conditions. However, the overall colours will be consistent which you can make additional adjustments to if you so choose to.

You will get better results with this preset if you shoot with a professional camera and lens as opposed to a phone camera.

If the image appears whitewashed after application of the preset, please make the following adjustments:
– Reduce exposure by dragging the exposure slider to the left
– Reduce the whites by dragging the slider to the left
– Reduce the highlights by dragging the slider to the left
– Reduce the shadows and blacks if necessary
– If you’d like to add more details, you can do this by adding a bit of clarity by dragging the slider to the right (careful not to overdo this as it can sometimes highlight skin problems)

If the image appears underexposed after applying the preset, please make the below adjustments:
– Drag the shadows slider to the right to pull out some details
– Drag the blacks slider to the right to brighten the image
– Add whites by dragging the whites slider to the right
– Add highlights by dragging the slider to the right
– Depending on the results of the steps above you might need to increase the exposure by dragging the slider to the right
– If you’d like to add more details, you can do this by adding a bit of clarity by dragging the slider to the right (careful not to overdo this as it can sometimes highlight skin problems)

If you’d like to increase or decrease saturation, this is best done using the individual colour saturation sliders in HSL.
