SOMETHING TO CONSIDER

Something to consider this new year might be an introspective perspective without judgement. But before we get into all of that, let me first say HAPPY NEW YEAR! Albeit at the tail end of January. I also want to say thank you to everyone of you who continue to support me and my work. It really means a lot to me and I wish nothing but wonderful life experiences to you all.

Going back on something to consider for the year ahead, I thought I’d take this opportunity to share how an introspective view changed my life for the best.

There was a brief moment in time when I had what some might describe as a difficult period following certain blows life had dealt me. I found myself projecting my predicament externally. What seemed to fuel and encourage the latter was the environment I found myself in was all too happy to arm me with excuses if you will about how nothing is my fault and I merely happen to be a victim of circumstances. While the latter might be very true in some instances, it couldn’t possibly be the reason for every single thing that has gone wrong in my life.

Being someone that grew up with a lot of adages, the one that came to mind was “excuses are the nails used to build a house of failure”. This set me on a journey to take a different life approach. Introspection. I learnt very quickly not to be too hard on myself. After all, I’m only seeking ways in which to improve upon myself. Forgiveness is definitely key here as it releases you of any lingering anger.

It didn’t take long for me rediscover myself. I identified my weaknesses and found ways to improve upon them and in some instances embrace them and turn them around in my favour. Discovering the “Law of Attraction” also helped as I began to see things in a positive light no matter how low life might sometimes get. I soon realised that despite the existence of external factors which may or may not have an impact on some of my life challenges, I could see I had some level of power and control. Starting from a point of gratitude, I’m able to see things a little differently and act with grace.

I understand that life can sometimes be hard to navigate especially when you face certain challenges. But if you haven’t already, this might be the time to favour yourself with an introspective perspective, allowing room for forgiveness and rediscovery wherever that may be.

Thanks for reading “Something To Consider”. A special thank you to Yolke and Langham London for hosting me.
