We are characters in our own movie. At least for the most part. This works on the premise that we are to an extent (that stretches towards a degree of certainty), in control of ourselves more so than we are others. Our life becomes a movie, one that depicts our character regardless of external forces.
In the beginning, we start off with dreams and aspirations of what we hope our life woud be and mould a character that fits that narrative to achieve what we set out to do. Dreams mostly made up of societal expectations while devoid of our true essence even though we may find ourselves on the path that leads to self discovery.
But the more we live and experience life, we become aware of things that could possibly impact us. And how we react is based on our perception of the events. Still, we remain characters in what might be a somewhat twisted plot.
Dreams change, people change, and sometimes life changes us. All of which help form the fabric of our character. Don’t be afraid to change the script. Allow yourself to evolve through it all. The journey will always remain the important part of the process.
We are characters in our own movie, and rightly so. The responsibility remains on us to reflect the changes we’ve experienced on the journey so far. We make mistakes and we learn from it. We meet new folks that give us a different perspective on life. We discover hard truths and reach an all time low. It changes us, who we are at our core. This is why we fall in love with the characters on our screen. We’ve been spectators of their experience and allow them the opportunity to change into who they need to be to survive it all.
We are characters in our own movie. One that comes with an ever changing script. We must remember to bring our character along for the ride as it’s the only part we know how best to play.
