Our Week in Black and White: Happy New Year!

January 1, 2017

Happy New Year! We made it to 2017!

This week was a very busy one. I managed to complete my eBook and publish it on Amazon. A decision I had to take back as an in genuine human being decided to take advantage of Amazon’s return policy. This individual basically bought the eBook, read it and then asked for a refund indicating that they bought it by mistake. This is because Amazon has a 14 day return policy on eBooks if purchased in error. In a way I’m grateful that this happened earlier on in the process as I can now avoid such scams and sell directly on my blog. My message to this person is deceit is not a good way to end the year or step into the new year. Having said this, I wish you peace.

Moving on. We did a couple of shoots for the blog. One of which featured a jumper from Misspap and the other was Craig telling us more about his style. We took a break in the middle of Craig’s shoot to grab our weekly free coffee from Paperchase. I always talk about this in our vlogs. You can get free coffee from Paperchase once a week with a membership card. Getting a membership card is easy. All you have to do is go into store and ask for one, it’s free too (by the way, this isn’t a sponsored post, I just love free stuff and like sharing). Plus on your birthday they top up your membership card with a fiver. While in PaperchaseCraig discovered a book about Northerners which inspired his blog post as he is one himself. We also did two Ad Campaigns and will be doing more in the future as it’s part of how we get to support content on our blog. If you’re interested in finding out how to get paid campaigns like these I’d suggest grabbing a copy of my eBook as I share a lot more in the final chapter titled “My Blogger Guide”.

One of our goals for 2017 is to do more travelling while spending as little as possible. So far we managed to find a cheap holiday for one of our intended destinations and got it booked and we’re pretty excited about it. I also discovered an exchange program we could attend for a week in Spain at no cost to us and put in an application. Fingers crossed, we get accepted.

I spent quite some time speaking to my family. If you follow my blog you’ll know that they’re based in Nigeria. It was really lovely to catch up with them. We are looking to visiting around Easter which will be well documented on the blog.

On new year’s eve, we got dressed up and made the loveliest roast dinner as we didn’t make any prepaid plans like we did like year with friends. Craig did all the cooking and I made the gravy as that happens to be my specialty. I have a secret ingredient (encona hot sauce) which I add to it that makes it the best gravy in all of the land, lol. After dinner, we stepped onto our balcony to watch the fireworks. Craig put out the chairs and a hot brew to keep up comfy and warm. We held hands while reminiscing on the moments we got to share together in 2016. We moved to a new apartment which was quite stressful at the time sorting it all out, I got better at photography after many sleepless nights of practicing, we went to New York after months of saving and planning, Craig got his dream job and I wrote an eBook. We couldn’t be more grateful for these events and the lessons learnt along the way.

We want to use this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU for sticking around and showing us your continued support. We pray 2017 will be the best year yet and you achieve all that you set out to do. Happy New Year! And cheers to dreams coming true.
