5 Things I’ve Learnt About Love

February 14, 2015

is the word for today seeing as it is Valentine’s day I’ve decided to share some of the things I’ve learnt about love. So buckle up folks as this is going to be one hell of a love ridden tell.

Love Yourself

Love Yourself

In order to give love out you need to first learn to love yourself. When I say love yourself I don’t mean being selfish but rather learning to embrace and accept every bit of you. By embracing yourself, you discover more about you and by accepting who you are you find that you can use it to your advantage to become a better version of you as it would be clear to you what you need to improve on as well as the things you need to focus on. Only when you learn to love yourself can you truly give love to another.

Forgive Yourself

Forgive Yourself

I’ve found that sometimes we can be a little too harsh on ourselves when we make mistakes. What we’ve got to learn is that no one is perfect and in making mistakes we learn what not to do again going forward. It’s okay to vent a little but dwelling on your shortcomings will only pull you back. You’ve got to learn to say yes I’ve made a mistake and I’ve learnt my lesson so on to the next thing.

It is also worth mentioning here that by forgiving yourself you find that you learn to forgive others and not hold on to grudges and this my friend makes for an easy going lifestyle.

Discover Love

Discover Love

When I say discover love I mean discover the things you love. This is made possible by going out and exploring new things. When you find something you truly love you begin to develop a passion for it which then leads you to spend more time on it, which then leads you to become more fulfilled as you have found a purpose. Your fulfilment will reflect on you and everyone around will notice your continuos growth and happiness. Whenever I focus on the things I love, I seem to attract more love into my life, just saying.

Give Back

Give Back

If someone is kind towards you the polite thing to do would be to reciprocate the gesture. This is what I mean by giving back. Try not to fall into a habit of taking people who genuinely care about you for granted. Find a way to show gratitude and appreciation, even if it’s just by saying a thank you you’d be surprised how a simple gesture like that can go a really long way.

Become Love

Become Love

Finally become the love in which you seek. More often than not we receive what we put out. If you constantly put out negative feelings you’ll find that you will be surrounded by negativity. The same goes for love, when you put enough love out there you will receive love.

And so on this day marked as one to show love I am sending you lots of love and well wishes wherever you happen to be. Cheers to finding and keeping love.
